The Government of the Republic of Malawi will use accreditation to manage attendance of delegates to the Summit.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, accreditation for all the delegates will be done online from 30th July to 6th August, 2021. In this regard, delegations are requested to submit electronic copies of passport sized photos on a white background and passport bio pages in JPEG format.

Each delegation is requested to appoint a Designated Accreditation Officer (DAO) who will be responsible for online registration of delegates and collection of passes. The details (passport bio-data, email address and contact number) of the DAO should be submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Malawi as an attachment of a Note Verbale to This email address is being protected from spambots. Member countries are also requested to note that accredited delegates will not be able to access some of the summit venues if they do not have an additional overpass. A limited number of venue-specific overpasses will be issued to each delegation and they will vary according to venue capacity and SADC protocols. The overpasses can be rotated by member countries among their accredited delegation.

Special Lapel Pins will be issued to Heads of State and Government, Heads of Delegation and Ministers. The other accredited delegates and official photographers will be issued Identification Cards with distinct colours depending on their categories.

Please note that:

 i) Access to BICC and other designated areas will be strictly limited to delegates with appropriate access cards. Delegates are always reminded to put on their badges within the premises of events.

ii) The same ID/Passport used to register must be presented at the time of accreditation.

iii) The delegation Liaison Officer will facilitate collection of badges for their assigned member country delegation and will be handed out directly to the entitled personnel. Collection of badges will start from 7th to 9th August, 2021.

iv) All members of the media who wish to have access to official SADC venues and be part of any official media pools must be accredited.

v) Badges are important security credentials. Loss of access card must be reported immediately at the Registration Desk.

vi) Identity cards are personal and cannot be transferred.

vii) It is advisable that all other support staff without accreditation remain at the hotels.

For this Summit, each member country can accredit: -

i) Heads of State and Government and Spouses; and

ii) 5 delegates
